Agent Provocateur Riots Commence in London at G20

It looks like the agents provocateurs — otherwise known as anarchists — are having their way in London as the G20 commences. From a blog covering the protests posted at the Guardian:

The “hardcore” protesters have broken through police lines and have made their way to an unboarded HSBC branch on Queen Victoria Street, says Guardian reporter Paul Lewis. An anarchist flag has been raised on an office block opposite the branch, he adds. The Press Association reported a fight on the same street between two men — one wearing a suit — which was broken up by police.

Police Clash with G20 Demonstraters in the City

Craig Murray's predictions that the Police would pen-in and provoke protesters (see article below) prove to have been correct. Moreover it appears that the Police deliberately provoked the crowds into violence and confrontation by first lashing out with batons and then charging them, both on foot and with mounted police. The BBC News 24 commentator on the spot, Ben Brown, admitted that he found the police charge very scary.

One demonstrator claimed that it was precisely when the Police began to pen-in the crowds that windows were broken in the Royal Bank of Scotland building.

So the question must be asked: was the Police charge deliberately planned in order to panic the crowd and provoke further violence? Was it intended to provide a photo-opportunity for the mainstream media (MSM), meant to justify all the hyping-up of violence that the MSM had been stoking for weeks?



UPDATE: Certainly the Six o'Clock News on BBC News 24 presented the events as "bloody clashes" caused by the protesters. Never mind that it was the protesters' blood that had been spilt! The Police were shown to be reacting to an aggressive crowd with footage of the Police being pushed-back. No similar footage was shown of the Police operation --significantly named Operation Glencoe-- to pen-in, separate and provoke the protesters.

And while the reportage concentrated on the confrontation in the City the peaceful demonstrations in Trafalgar Square and elsewhere were mentioned only in passing. The MSM certainly got their photo-opportunity of 'violent protesters' bearing-out all the hype that led up to this afternoon.

G20 & the MSM: The Field of "Permitted" Opinion Narrows Further

There has been an astonishing hype in the British media for the last fortnight around the "Riots" which have been predicted for the G20 summit for the last two weeks. It is a fortnight since the first "Riots" newspaper billboards appeared in London. The news bulletins yesterday were dominated by the boarding up of shops and by earnest "security consultants" advising that people in suits are likely to be attacked.

The BBC reported fears that demonstrators would "Create unrest" in the capital.

Actually they won't create unrest. What they may do is manifest the unrest that already exists in the capital.

The Dollar is Dead, Long live the Anglo-American Alliance

Tones of disappointment from the BBC's reporters that the G20 protesters, currently demonstrating outside the Bank of England in the City of London, haven't 'resorted to violence.' Despite the Police and the BBC's attempt to talk-up violence it hasn't happened yet.

What we are seeing is the Police being jostled and harangued by the crowd and a BBC reporter being shouted at with cries of "Long live Marxism" and "Long live Revolution", but all in a rather desultory way. We hear that the Police have made eleven arrests and if any violence or broken heads were caused by the Police you can be sure the BBC isn't showing it.

All this followed the meeting between Barack Obama and Gordon Brown at the Foreign Office where the message by both was an appeal to the rest of us to keep faith in capitalism. The 'special relationship' was rolled-out once again ... coded language for the alliance of Anglo-American capitalism, signifying its determination to save the pirates in Wall Street behind this present crisis.

Significantly the Obama-Brown mutual appreciation society's podium was bedecked by several UK and US flags entwined with each other. And not a European flag amongst them ...

Obama held hostage by Geithner's PPPIP

As the farce of the G20 begins in London we hear from Pepe Escobar how Obama is being held hostage by Geithner, the fox in charge of the chickencoop. Instead of dealing with capitalism's world crisis events will, no doubt, boil down to yet another attempt by the Anglo-Americans to save the Dollar and more importantly the financial pirates in Wall Street behind the entire mess.
